Long time reader of Preservation Sound, I'm always impressed by the content. My Peavey relationship started in Atlanta in the mid-70's with a PA-400 with my neighborhood garage band. Great PA for high school dance gigs!. Later, thru some equipment trades, I had acquired a Marshall Super Bass 100w head. At the time, I thought it was gonna be the bees knees, but alas, for some reason we didn't get along (plus the rig looked like a Hammerhead shark as my cab wasn't as wide). So off to Rhythm City to trade for something else, a Peavey Bass 400 head with a 6 band EQ, Fuzz AND Distortion! (which I still have 49 years later). I still cry when I think about it, but we all were young once (or twice) and made questionable choices. So I imagine somewhere out there is someone turning that Marshall up to "11" in glorious sonic nirvana. :)

I have a 612H-G. I thought it was a bass amp, I think this says guitar? Anyone know what a good replacement speaker would be? Most are good, but one needs reconned.

Glad to see the catalog! I have a Peavey Deuce II and a Peavey Century 120 bass amp and both are great. Solid, reliable, and a bit overweight. The amps find the right owners. Long may they run!

What was the brand name of the 18-inch speakers used with the Peavey Super Festival Series 800B back in the early 1970s? They were one in each cabinet, reversed fold, and came with the original setup. Were they Celestion?

I know you posted this a while ago, but I am doing research on a used peavey classic 2x12 serial # 3S-3618. I can't find much at all about the amp.

A buddy gave me an 80s Classic Series Duel 2-12 ( aka the Twin killer) 120 watts of raw tube power. I put 7025s in the pre-slots and JJ 6L6s in the power section. Came loaded with a couple of 12" black widows. The perfect amp for my Ibanez 8-string guitar. Walks all over some big name high-price amps. Fender-type 'cleans' for miles, and take 'effect-pedals' well. People at jams are always surprised at how good this amp sounds, compared to their fancy 'boutique' jobbies. Weighs a ton. I put on some wheels, and bought a cart to move it around.
Cheers.
