Great article, which I stumbled across your R40 project while looking for information on my recently acquired R40. I figure it sounded OK stock, but I knew it could be better.

After reading this post, I shot over to Edcor and purchased a RMX-1 transformer. I have performed this modification on a Nady RSM-4 a few years back (along with a ribbon adjustment), and the different was outstanding!

Finding your website also sparked my interest into building audio projects again. Thanks for the inspiration!]]></description>
