1960: Not A Flattering Term For ‘Recording Engineer’

Four-page article from the popular press circa 1960 which claims to describe the work of a recording engineer of the day.  “Three complete stereo channels with a fader for each finger!”

Marvellous, what a lovely thing to see and be guided through with such ‘snappy’ prose.

Do you think echo-chamber or do you maybe they’ve got hold of an early plate?

Does anyone have a way to contact either Mr. Oelrich (presuming he is still living) or his family (children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, etc.)

Hello Denise,

You wouldn’t happen to have any tapes that he might have kept or any photographs he took of the recording sessions he engineered of Elvis Presley?
